Maximizing your storage unit space.
- When you contemplate storing small or awkward-sized items, using a shelving unit to maximize space the space is a good idea. If you don’t have shelving already and want the same affect cheaply, you can use cinderblocks and wide boards.
- Try and fill every nook and cranny with smaller items. Dresser drawers can be filled with items as well. You can place your garage type items like: weed eaters, leaf blowers, brooms, shovels, and rakes in an unused garbage cans. Take advantage of every empty space.
- It’s important to stack according to weight and size so that items don’t get crushed with heavy items or shift and fall and break.
- Bagging of vacuum sealing clothing or bedding before placing it in the unit is a good idea to keep out dust.
- Disassembling beds, tables, couch & chair cushions with save space and will most likely stay in better shape for the move. Be sure and place screws in a container or zip bag and tape it to the furniture or mark the container parts are stored in. Visqueen is good to use for wrapping couches and chairs. Place cushions in large trash bags.
